Photographing people
I must remember, again, that long, long time before being a wedding photographer, the principal reason why, once in a while, it crossed my mind to be able to become one, even before I imagined that I would become, really, one. The portrait. Since I remember, as a photographer, my first inclination toward it, was from the pleasure I felt when I was photographing people.
Even before being one, photographic magazines were the ones that emptied my pockets the most and excited my imagination. There, I found them, the photos, in all sorts of types and shapes, color and black and white, the reality look like and those daughters of the deliriant imagination of the makers and, among them, those that portrayed people were the ones that enchanted me the most.
Being a portrait photographer
Then, of course, I became a photographer. But, very rarely do I photograph people. The portrait was not my main subject sending light through my lenses. But, one day, it happens. On a random occasion in life, I was invited to photograph a wedding, and, there, he was at my entire disposal, the portrait.
From the excitement I felt to the fear of not being able to take advantage well, something that can happen when we exalt ourselves when we arrive at the moment we dreamed so much about, until the conclusion that, finally, I arrived at that place, being a photographer doing a portrait, there, in the wedding.
The portrait is all over the wedding day
From there, it seemed, finally, that I had found the main reason why I had become a photographer. So, if it is here the place, let’s go do it seriously and at full force. It seems that I had an imaginary clause with my clients that, at some time of the event, at home, after they were pretty ready or in the party place at that time of the day, with the light I knew it was the right one, the portrait should happen or I had no reason to appear there with my cameras and lenses.
Very quickly I realized that he, the portrait, was in everything on the wedding day. But that is, or already was, for another post.
