From Cais do Sodré to Terreiro do Paço

If there is a Lisbon area that is impregnated in the history of my life is the Cais do Sodré station and that group of veins and arteries that are the adjacent streets and, almost all, transport to this heart of the city of Lisbon, the vivifying blood in the form of people which come to the, always beautiful, downtown Lisbon.

The streets of Alecrim, S. Paulo, Arsenal, and the others that, suddenly, I do not remember the names of were my first connection to Lisbon.  There is the alley of the Apostles, the place of my first job in a small accounting office, whose function gave me the freedom of wandering around the city, to take care of matters between the Office and its clients and services. That is why the whole Baixa is not a mystery to me and, now, in the exercise of wedding photographer, from time to time, there I go with my couple as a happy child showing the playground of his games.

This time it was Sofia and Bruno who accepted the challenge. The patine that those old, and somewhat mistreated, streets give the photos, and to this servant of yours, are invaluable. We can, calmly and satisfied wander the streets and make a mixture of street photography and portrait, with the couple not accustomed to these things of poses and lenses pointed at them, which may be a little uncomfortable but good for the wedding photographer to relax them, until he arrives at the end of the session and, as always, been a joy and then, on the day of the wedding, this hunter of light has become, as he always desires, the most invisible figure of the day.

So I took advantage of what those streets were offering me about textures, depth, and connection to something that comes from other times and makes us feel that we belong to things that propel us into the future with the young married couple, ahead of us.

The new path between Cais do Sodré and Praça do Comércio, which I had not yet seen, was, certainly approved by all the people walking satisfied, by the river Tagus, if some other food they were looking about. Sofia and Bruno, no longer with that initial nervousness, proved themselves great models and we ended the ride at the beautiful lively Praça do Comercio with people and the sun just saying until tomorrow. To the wedding photographer was a feast.
