Photographing a wedding in the heart of Alentejo

Because I was born in Alentejo, I always feel like a fish in the water when I am going to photograph a wedding there. Even if I live far from there for a lifetime I always feel something special when I surpass Setúbal and start to feel myself, really, in Alentejo.

Today, Avis was my destiny. After a troubled journey, because the GPS sent me to strange roads, almost far away from the world I expected, I arrived at Avis to rest and rise early to a very hot day in the heart of Alentejo. One of the things I like most in my job, as a wedding photographer, is to delight myself with new landscapes, that were unknown to me, and complete more of my knowledge of the country.

Trust in the wedding photographer

It was like that at Inês and Raul’s wedding. Each one at their parent’s home villages, for the get ready, and the wedding party, some kilometers above. I may say that I knew a bit more about my, our, land with scrap, holm oaks, cork oaks, and most of the time very plane and with the people from Alentejo that opposed to the used jokes about them, they are very joyful and party people as I registered that day. I loved them a lot and I can not thank them enough for their trust in their wedding photographer.
