The photographer and the wishes of light, in weddings

THE LIGHT AND THE…LIGHT by THE ALGARVE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Under a beautiful yellow light, the bride and groom, side by side, paying attention to what is being said at the altar, as seen by the wedding photographer in the Algarve.

Light, again. Without it, photography was not possible. With it, sometimes it is an amazement and others torture.

The wedding photographer crosses with both so many times during the wedding day that, if it was not already a habit and knowing how to solve it, at the end of every task it needed a mental rest to survive another toil.

So, with time, I learned how to deal with them, the light that enchants me and the light that annoys me. But do not think that is an easy task, because they are like those twin brothers extremely competitive and do not lose one to interfere with each other, with amazement once or plotting the photographer in charge of taking the story of the day, also, full of amazement.

It is the outside one, sometimes very hard that forces everyone to close their eyes and draw so dark shadows that, sometimes, half of the face disappears, and, of the eyes, we only can see two dark wells without knowing if they are happy, undecided or, even in the weddings, jealous.

The inside one, soft, shaping faces and formally dressed clothes for a party day that takes those who, later, see the photos oh how beautiful they are, it seems those pictures we can see in the museums.

But we can not think only about the outside and the inside light as if the good one is the inside one and the outside one is bad that makes the wedding photographer’s head blow away or with the good one, it is only needed to point and pick up. I wish it were like that.

Yes, but it is not. Many times, it is the outside light that gives the photographer all the best with so many things to photograph, and, the inside light does not give him the slightest idea of how he will work with it. Not to mention when they mingle at the door of the church, where half of the picture is just perfect for an infinite thanks, and in the other half, you could be nicer and not spoil such an important photo for me.

Until now, I did not understand if they do it because they like to annoy each other, if it is for fun like those people that like to play pranks on others, or if, suddenly, one of them freaks out with the wedding photographer, because some reason he does not know, he is not an unfriendly person much less with the light he needs so much, and decide to plot his life just because.

However, the wedding photographer was learning to get to know them and discovering that the good one sometimes is not, sometimes can be cynical, and the nasty is not so twisted that the best one is run away from it. They, the light, and the light are like people that, also, always have, I have, some embarrassment amid all our goods and vice versa.

At the end of the day and with my bag full, the photographer at the wedding knows that both of them gave him baths of them over everyone who was there, for the photographs he liked so much to, take with him and, after, deliver to the couple that, proud, will show to the world come here and see how our wedding was.

But, at the end of everything, I still do not know if there is any evil in the one that makes my life miserable if it is a matter of personality and it is not to blame, or the one that I believe is my friend, just do it because it is like that or vanity. What I can say, and that I know, is that I only can take my photos with both, and I thank them in the deepest of my heart.

A toast to the light…to the lights…yes!!!…
