WHAT MATTERS by THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN LISBON

Fantasies

I am always amazed by people. Every time I try to select photos for the blog post, it seems to me, that, with more intensity, I can see my work and I have time to be more critical or, even, notice that it seems I can do some work that is important to see, to show it.

Also, it is there where I perceive myself as the reason why I never get tired of going out, in the early morning, and getting a one-day adventure as it is, for a photographer, on a wedding day. I wrote, here, many times about the reasons why I get motivated to come back all over again, every time someone who is getting married wants me there. Each of them is a strong reason, but none is valid by itself.

Maybe, in my fantasies, that is so inspiring for the articles in the blog of the wedding photographer, I brought to the point of the pen the affections, the mirrors, the unexpected that wait for me at every place and challenge me to catch them, like the children games in the schoolyard, the triumphal exits after the ceremony of the yes, I do, with smiles, hugs, and kisses to fill the warehouses inside my cameras like they were stuffed orchards after a great flowery spring, or the dance openings with dancing newlyweds that make to remember the movies, old but eternal as the happiness we wish for them, of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, in black and white, like the most of my photographs.

In every photo

Still, I could find many more reasons because I was a wedding photographer. It is not necessary to list them all because, most of them, I only remember most when they, for some reason, come to my mind with some sign they may have and look, that is because of this that I love to go out and photograph weddings.

Maybe, inside each photo, I can find a justification for that. Because inside this one I can find such a serenity, there is one full of shyness, how so much joy that irradiating one, look, here, a tear almost to be and in that one, I do not even try to guess what it is because, whatever it is, is coming from very inside. Some do not have anything to say but are good-looking.

Because they were very well framed, the subject is harmoniously distributed over the plane or the light was perfect to draw inside it those sensations that attract eyes and please the senses.

But all these things must be coming from someplace, for the wedding photographer to catch them, exactly at the moment that made them very special.

And, at the end, people for photos

For the many things, I have already photographed, and remember my early days of being dazzled by cameras, lenses, and labs to develop black and white sheets of paper sometimes remembered here, I never found any source with so many sensations calling me, like when people are, do and celebrate. It is here where I find the drive that moves me in the direction of photographs with everything that they can show and represent.

I know, there are so many other places where they are and could, also, dazzle me with different things, some of them not so nice to look at it.

But I can not be in every place where the photos happen and, because of that, I chose, I lie, I was chosen to be where they are in celebration of love bonds with all the derivations we are able to find when I am picking up some here, others there and, in the end, I have a story to tell and write with pictures to be read in a book until we never know when. It is my wish that it be forever.

The bride's mother, smiling, puts the necklace around her neck, seen by her sister, from the back, in a composition of the wedding photographer.

Ready and with the veil already on, the bride sees herself in the mirror, seen by the wedding photographer.

With the bouquet in her hand and reflected in a large mirror in the room, the bride waits for the exit to the wedding ceremony, as seen by the wedding photographer.

The bride appears in the exit hall of the building to get into the car that will take her to the ceremony in the church, captured by the wedding photographer.
