THEY DID EVERYTHING by THE PORTUGAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
When the family does and when the family has fun. It was the early morning when the wedding photographer arrived at this place, in Monchique, to photograph the groom for the preparation for the wedding.
I found him busy, carrying wooden tops to make tables that will receive, ahead, family and friends, after the fulfilled ritual the most important of the day. With him, there were close family members, good morning, pleased to meet you, may I help with something? Thank you, no need, it is still early, so let’s take it easy.
So, the groom begins his ritual of transformation, replacing his summer shorts with his suit pants and all those little things that change our look and get us ready for other roles. The duty is done, and the wedding photographer goes down to Caldas de Monchique where, also, the bride is getting metamorphosed with all the care needed for that, surrounded by family, bridesmaids, hairdressers, and a makeup artist.
With a bride already made, we departed for where the wedding photographer left a few hours earlier. In a quick reconnaissance of space, he thought he could have been wrong, such as the work done by those who were there. Tables ready with towels, plates, glasses, and flowers.
The chairs were ready to receive all the diners and, over it, lots of light bulbs ready to offer their light when the sun goes away because the party must go on, even if he got sleepy and decided to turn off…his light. On the other side of the house, a table transformed into an altar where the wedding couple will swear, yes, I do and more flowers, because flowers at the wedding are a complement to the sunlight, still full of energy, with the drowsiness still far away, giving us the sign that everything was prepared for the big event and happy forever.
After the late afternoon with the photos with the couple already dispatched, the sun starts giving the sign that he is ready to close his eyes but offering the wedding photographer the light he loves so much. He knows how to take advantage, he does not let anything go away, because if all those people worked so much to make it possible that the party will be a party and are living it right now, so, they will do it completely.
It is a good thing because the wedding photographer will have photographs flying into his lenses and, with that, all those people and what they have done will be recorded, to help them when they start to tell stories about what they have lived here, each one their own and how they saw it and the photographer with everyone else’s.
After the sun had done its duty for the day, he closed his eyes for a good night’s sleep, not before being replaced by the lamps hanging over the tables to show that they, too, know how to let the party remain a party.
The wedding photographer went home very happy, with his cameras and lenses, also, sleeping quietly in their sleeping bag…until next time.
