THINGS OTHERS DO for THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN LISBON
Some photos of the things that decorate the wedding day made by others, at the Vila Galé Collection Palácio dos Arcos in Oeiras
Work done by others
A wedding is not just about the people who go there. It starts much earlier, with the people going to go there when the time comes and get ready for the event.
Right there, where a groom and a bride, each in their place, begin to transform themselves as if they were chrysalises ready to turn into magnificent butterflies, those vain ones that butterfly their wings on purpose so that we don’t lose sight of them, as grooms must be for wedding photographers. I find already work done by others so that all the things that are needed on the wedding day are not missing.
From the bride’s bouquet to the, I don’t know what to call it, floral arrangements that the groom will put in a little pocket made on his coat, on purpose, for him, to some objects for the own use of those who are getting married and chosen on time with all the pride.
The little treats for photos
However, wherever they are going, whether they are getting married in a ceremony by appointment or celebrating as soon as the important moment is already part of history and can only be relived in the photographs of the wedding photographer, some people are diligently in charge of putting everything in place according to the taste and desire of the couple.
There are the flowers in the right places, the tables with tablecloths to match the event, the little treats that turn a normal place into a very special one to stay in memory, the names of each guest and the place that suits them on the table where delicacies will not be missing, as soon as it’s time and one or other special order that makes that place of sharing love and happiness a place, at that moment, unique.
To refresh your memory
The wedding photographer will be attentive to everything so that, when the time comes to the event’s end, nothing is lost and has been transformed into photographs as he likes and as it is his obligation.
That is why the wedding photographer knows that he has to, on the one hand, be very careful, be nosy, and find out where all those things are before they are used, so that they, as Aristotle would say, in their natural place they can still and afterward be seen when someone wants to revive the memory that has already started to fade and only through the wedding photographs it is possible to see them defined, as the glasses do to the wedding photographer’s eyes.
That’s what makes him always want to come back and be like a curious child looking for new things because, at each wedding, everything starts all over again and with new things. So it has been and so it will be.
