NOTHING IS TO STAY by PORTUGAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
It is done. Countless times the lens of the wedding photographer witnessed this joy and, at the same time, the relief after the institutional contained behavior during the ceremony. I am sure that for the majority of couples, special the grooms, the ideal way to bypass all the ceremony parts and go directly to the, yes, I accept, I won’t, I swear, and let’s go because it will party out there.
This happens in non-religious ceremonies if the photographer does not ask for some more time so that he has time to make a more complete story, almost before the beginning it was already done, that is it, married and very happy forever.
But, in the churches, the officiating priest has more ritualistic obligations to fulfill, and, sometimes, he likes the pleasure of the speech and the thing goes on further the time that was the time to say the yes that we want to offer each other.
I must say because I am a very selfish wedding photographer, I do not mind if the priest is gifted in the speech and loses the notion of time. There is always one more photo to take, right there, almost destined to not be, unless it is a fast catch, and I do not want to think about all those photos that will be lost in time forever, because of the lack of time at my disposal.
An affliction. So, I am a great admirer of proud officiants who give me more time and let me work chasing and picking up the missing ones. When it is on the Quintas (venues), the civil ceremonies, with the officiant of the state, it is needed to incorporate the Speedy Gonzalez in me and, usually, nothing is left to do. It is a question of method.
But, when we arrive at the way out of the place of the ceremony, wherever it is, the gladness I see in my lens, challenging the cameras not to fail them with speed and efficacy, having no time for distractions to gather all that joy and not let the wedding photographer quietening a moment, because they always find another one, look at the groom, do not lose that one of the brides with her friend, oh! oh!
We did that.
It is a feast. In fact, being a witness of the joy of the newlyweds, all that who is with them, and my lens, I am sure about the importance of being there. Of course, we have that vanity about being able to catch that one in time, detected by the corner of the eye.
Those ones, give me satisfaction that you can never understand.
