The Wedding Day in Photographs

The bride, Rita, came from Coimbra to get married in the beautiful village of Óbidos, in the district of Leiria, while the groom, Pedro, didn’t have to travel far, coming from Maxial, Torres Vedras. The wedding ceremony occurred in Óbidos, in the stunning Church of Santa Maria of Óbidos.
The weather was perfect — blue skies and a pleasant temperature — and we then headed to Quinta da Ferraria in Rio Maior, where the celebration was filled with joy and warm interaction among the wedding guests.
I must say, it was a great pleasure for me to capture this day in photographs so they can remember such an important moment in their lives. It was an honour.

Wedding Photography Within the Walls of Óbidos

After the ceremony, we took a photographic walk through the medieval streets of the white village. The picturesque corners — the narrow alleys, the church portal, and the view over the surrounding landscape — offered perfect settings to create unique wedding photographs with strong visual impact.

  • Iconic framing: use of natural light and historical heritage to compose elegant and artistic images.
  • Genuine emotions captured: smiles, embraces, the couple’s intimacy, and the details of the wedding guests — essential elements in telling the story of the day.
  • Highlighting the wedding day: each photo captures the essence of the moment, preserving the intimate and festive atmosphere.

The aesthetic choices reflected not only my style as a wedding photographer but also Pedro and Rita’s story — a union of roots, faith, and tradition. Each shot was planned, yet spontaneous, to ensure the wedding photographs radiate authenticity and emotion.

The Wedding Party at Quinta da Ferraria, Rio Maior

For the celebration, we moved on to Quinta da Ferraria in Rio Maior, a rural venue with versatile settings — gardens, halls, and pools — ideal for a relaxed gathering among the wedding guests. This venue, with a pool and natural surroundings, made for an engaging party in a tranquil setting near Lisbon.

  • Multi-purpose venue: areas for cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and relaxed outdoor socialising.
  • Joyful atmosphere: music, speeches, dancing, and spontaneous moments naturally captured.
  • Complete wedding day coverage: from the cake cutting to the exchanges of glances between the bride, groom, and guests, all the way to the final hours of the party.

Quinta da Ferraria, located in Ribeira de São João, also features an outdoor pool and beautiful gardens — ideal for capturing bright portraits and relaxed atmospheres. The late afternoon photographs conveyed the harmony between the natural setting, the wedding guests, and the heartfelt celebration.

The Day in Photographs – Delivery and Emotion

It was a true pleasure to deliver this day in photographs: records that preserve not only the ceremony and the celebration, but above all the emotions experienced by the bride, groom, and their wedding guests. Each portrait was conceived to tell a story — from the “I do” at the Church of Santa Maria to the final dance at Quinta da Ferraria.

  • Complete visual memory: a mix of formal, spontaneous, and artistic photos, so the day can be relived whenever desired.
  • Professionalism and sensitivity: attentive support from the first click to the final album delivery.
  • Honour and gratitude: to make visible the emotion and authenticity of such an important day in Pedro and Rita’s lives.

I consider myself privileged to have been chosen as the wedding photographer for such an intimate and meaningful event. Witnessing the bride’s joy, the groom’s gaze, and the warmth among family and guests was an honour for me.
