A Summer Wedding in the Alentejo

As you would expect from a July wedding in the Alentejo, Santiago do Cacém welcomed everyone with plenty of sunshine and soaring temperatures.
Isabel and Francisco looked radiant and barely seemed to notice the heat. Their only concern was enjoying every moment of their wedding day, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
And that’s exactly how the day unfolded. Their ceremony at the beautiful Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Graça was filled with emotion, while the celebrations at Quinta da Cilha carried on well into the night.
Thank you both for allowing me to be part of such a wonderful day.
Getting Ready and the Ceremony at the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Graça

Nestled in the peaceful countryside between Santiago do Cacém and Santo André, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Graça is one of those hidden places that immediately captures your attention.
Dating back to the 18th century, this small Baroque chapel is known for its beautiful tiled interior and the long-standing devotion to Our Lady that has made it a place of pilgrimage for generations.
For Isabel and Francisco, it became the perfect setting to celebrate one of the most important moments of their lives.
- The bride and groom exchanged emotional glances, completely unfazed by the warm Alentejo summer.
- Their guests enjoyed an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, sharing every moment of the ceremony from just a few steps away.
- Surrounded by history, the chapel and its small fountain provided a timeless backdrop for both the ceremony and the photographs.
At a glance:
- An intimate 18th-century chapel full of character.
- Beautiful traditional Portuguese tiles and historic architecture.
- A peaceful setting for an emotional wedding ceremony.
- Perfect for natural, timeless wedding photography.
Wedding Photography: Capturing Genuine Emotions

As a wedding photographer, my goal was to capture not only the beauty of the day but also the genuine emotions shared by Isabel and Francisco from beginning to end.
Throughout the day, I focused on the small moments that often become the most meaningful memories.
- Despite the summer heat, Isabel looked effortlessly radiant, her flowing dress perfectly complementing the surrounding landscape.
- Francisco’s quiet confidence and the way he held Isabel’s hands spoke volumes without the need for words.
- Every smile, embrace, and emotional glance became part of the story that unfolded naturally throughout the day.
The combination of beautiful natural light, the peaceful surroundings, and the couple’s relaxed attitude created the perfect conditions for timeless photographs that truly reflect the atmosphere of their wedding.
There was also time to capture the details that complete every wedding story:
- The wedding rings, the dress, the veil and all the carefully chosen details.
- Warm embraces and genuine smiles shared with family and friends.
- The beauty of the chapel, its traditional tiles and the surrounding countryside.
- The soft golden light of a summer afternoon in the Alentejo.
Highlights:
- Genuine moments captured naturally.
- Relaxed, emotional storytelling.
- Beautiful natural light throughout the day.
- A complete visual story shared with family and friends.
Celebrating at Quinta da Cilha

After the ceremony, everyone gathered at Quinta da Cilha to continue the celebrations.
Located just a few minutes from Santiago do Cacém, this elegant wedding venue combines generous indoor spaces with beautiful gardens, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed summer wedding.
The atmosphere quickly became one of laughter, conversation and celebration.
- Guests enjoyed a delicious selection of Portuguese cuisine throughout the evening.
- Music and dancing kept the celebrations alive well into the night.
- Family and friends made every moment feel warm, personal and unforgettable.
As the evening unfolded, the gardens also provided the perfect opportunity for a few relaxed portraits of Isabel and Francisco, making the most of the beautiful golden light that only an Alentejo summer can offer.
