Like in a movie

The groom and the bride, holding hands, get off the boat at Trafaria.

Let’s go back a little bit, as if from a movie review and, again, on the way to the wedding itself. It is not that, for the wedding photographer, the wedding does not start as soon as the first click of one of his cameras is heard, usually at the groom’s parent’s house, not to mention, as soon as he leaves his own house, in the morning.

I must say it again, maybe some of these photos may be in an article, somewhere far behind but, in this new harvesting for the new posts, I couldn’t resist.

Photographing in the tiny raindrop

In front of the maritime station, the bride and groom and guests leave for the wedding ceremony.

I still remember that tiny raindrop, which it seems does not wet but, some steps ahead, we feel that some fireplace was already being welcome to evaporate those drops that make the wedding photographer feel a bit heavier than when he started the walk.

But, I am sure, it was not only that little rain that reasoned why this wedding stayed in my memory for so long. Our memory has those things and transforms details in references when we want to glorify ourselves because work done with some sacrifice, and well done, or just an exaggeration from a wedding photographer a bit vain.

Rain that offered unusual views of the wedding

But, what matters to me is that, in fact, that rain offered me the possibility of points of view impossible without it and my great loss is the photos that I could not catch. But, like everything in life, we can not take advantage of everything and when it does, it is worth it, so, the wedding photographer accomplished his mission.

That is funny how, between so many weddings,  I remember this one often, even if it is just to tell a new story among the many weddings I have ever done. Not because it was better than others, but, maybe, because I was never wet myself like that and without just one thought to give up. Maybe.

Dot by dot:

  • Once again, some of the photos in a new article may already be in another one from further back. That’s fine, it’s just that they can tell another story about part of the wedding day.
  • In fact, this wedding sticks in my mind, perhaps because it was almost all done in the pouring rain and the wedding photographer wanted to be a hero just because he got wet taking pictures. Stuff.
  • Of course, it’s not because of that. Now that everything that made the photographs possible was because of that drizzle, it was. If I hadn’t had it, the shots and points of view would have offered completely different pictures at the wedding.

You need to know:

  • From the port of Cacilhas to the Ponto Final restaurant blessed by the good omens of rain, could be a title for that morning.
