A Day with Champagne

The groom opens a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate with his friends.

When the wedding photographer arrives at the groom’s place, there’s still room for some calmness. Nothing better than a group of friends celebrating being there with someone who means a lot to them and who’s about to have a day full of adventures and emotions. It seems like something important is being plotted for later in the day, but it’s just talk—the kind of talk only friends know how to have.

I don’t know if starting the day with champagne is the best idea, but it always carries that symbolic character of celebrating important things and, for that reason, just fuels the process that will follow. I must say that, as a wedding photographer, I’m quite pleased to find this kind of energy early in the morning—it points to good things ahead. Only good can come from the bond between friends.

Sacred and Mystical Bonds Among the Wedding Party

The bride and groom distribute the sparkling wine to their friends' glasses.

The wedding photographer commits to documenting everything without in any way disturbing the sacred and mystical bonds among those who will join the groom in the first part of the day. I assure you, it was powerful and dynamic. I’ll show you later.

Point by point:

  • When I go as a wedding photographer for the groom’s preparations, I like:
    • To arrive early
    • To find everyone calm
    • Before they start getting ready for the wedding
  • These moments are essential to begin telling the story of the wedding day because:
    • They allow for some social interaction
    • Conversations unfold
    • The atmosphere is perfect to start taking photographs
  • The bonds between the groom and his friends are noticeable during these relaxed moments before the rush of putting on the suits.
  • They offer me:
    • Photographs full of emotional truth
    • They reveal the connection between the groom and his friends
    • The wedding photographer takes full advantage of that
  • That’s why I always try to arrive as early as possible at the place where the groom will get ready for the wedding day. That’s how complete stories are made.

You need to know:

  • That’s what a wedding day is about for me. It serves to tell stories through the photographs I take throughout the day. That begins early, right at the time arranged with the groom and those who’ll be with him. I’m not concerned with how he’ll look in his suit or how his hair will be styled. It will be what he chose, and that’s how it will be in the photos.
  • What matters to me—and what draws me to wedding photography—are the actions and interactions that come out of those continuous moments, which might begin with lighthearted conversations and challenges among friends before the race for suits and ties begins.
  • That has always been what interested me. Gathering all the photographs I took from those moments and turning them into a story with a beginning, middle, and end to share with others.
  • To know that, in a wedding album, someone following the photographs can understand the unfolding of the day and, more than anything, feel the emotions they carry—this will be a great satisfaction for me.

Your wedding day will tell an important story. However, without a photographer to capture it, it will be lost in people’s memories over time, leaving only scattered essential notes.

Come and see what I make out of a wedding day. How I tell the story in the wedding album and the photographs will help preserve people’s memory, your memory. Book a meeting and I’ll be at your service.
