On a Wedding Day

The path of wedding photographers wouldn’t be the same if they didn’t encounter them along the way. They are always present on a wedding day. They are at the parents’ house, where the couple usually begins the journey that will lead them to that long-awaited and carefully planned “yes.”
They accompany the bride—in her hands, in her hair, and sometimes as decorative elements on her dress. They are tucked into a small pocket of the groom’s jacket. They illuminate the couple’s path among the guests as they walk to their ceremony seats. They are also present at the ceremonial table, whether in a church or amidst the greenery of a garden venue.
Flowers in the Wedding Photographer’s Focus

They are on the guests’ tables and the newlyweds’ table. They fill the garden where photographs are taken. Flowers are perhaps the strongest symbol of a wedding day. That’s why the photographer could never forget them—not only because they are always present but also because their beauty consistently draws my lenses, which love to experiment with new angles and perspectives to ensure the captured effect does justice to the radiance they exude.
Beauty and Harmony in Wedding Photography
Flowers also bring out the best in us—the appreciation for beauty, harmony, the attraction to color, or simply the elegance of a bloom, which is always beautiful, regardless of its species. “You look as beautiful as a flower” is one of the most common compliments given to a bride. A beauty among beauties.
How could a wedding photographer not always be attuned to the beauty that surrounds them from the moment they arrive until they leave, after the work is done? Or at least, that’s the hope.
Point by Point:
- Flowers, like the couple, the guests, and the wedding photographer, are always present. A wedding day wouldn’t be the same without them.
- They accompany the bride, rest in a small pocket of the groom’s suit, and are a constant presence throughout the ceremony and the celebration.
- They adorn the tables of the wedding guests and the newlyweds, scenting the gardens where people stroll and talk.
- Flowers are perhaps the greatest symbol of a wedding day. They are chosen with love and care so that harmony becomes another defining word of the occasion.
- For all these reasons, they capture the wedding photographer’s attention. My cameras and lenses seek them out everywhere they are, in the grand celebration that is a wedding.
You Need to Know:
- The photographer’s work at a wedding does not focus solely on the couple—though they are, of course, the central figures of the day’s story. There are details everywhere that also deserve to be captured. Flowers are, perhaps, the queens of inanimate elements in wedding photography, forming part of a scene filled with intricate details.
I know how much care you will put into choosing the flowers for your wedding. For the photographer, they transform everything into a blooming garden, as if the bride, groom, and guests were all part of it. Call me, and let’s talk about your wedding and, of course, about the flowers too.
