Passionate about photography

Between two vases of flowers, the groom being helped in his preparation for the wedding.

At home, we refer to Margarida and Diogo’s wedding as Mr. Mário’s wedding. Mr. Mário is Margarida’s father, and he kindly contacted me to photograph their wedding. It turns out that Mr. Mário is passionate about photography. And when I say passionate, I really mean passionate. He breathes it, sees it, practices it, and talks about it in forums.

On one hand, I was happy to have been chosen by someone knowledgeable, but, on the other, I was completely panicked — any of my colleagues would understand — because every move I made, every angle, every lens change, every time the camera went up to my face would be meticulously analysed by Mr. Mário.

A fabulous wedding day

The wedding rings in a basket resembling a bird's nest, along with another with the bride's bouquet.

Still, I went in confident in my autonomy as a wedding photographer and driven by my commitment to do a good job. It’s true that even if Mr. Mário hadn’t shown the slightest interest in me or what I was doing, I could feel his presence. Margarida and Diogo were wonderful throughout the photos and the party with their wedding guests, and dear Mr. Mário, by the end of the night, finally rested happy knowing he had secured for his beloved daughter a fabulous wedding day at the Hotel Grande Real Villa Itália in Cascais.

As for this wedding photographer, once he received the final work, he approved it. I passed the test. The test of trust and the result. But it wasn’t just with him. I want it to always be this way.

Margarida and Diogo’s wedding, held at the iconic Hotel Grande Real Villa Itália in Cascais, was a prime example of elegance, emotion, and attention to detail. This five-star hotel, once the residence of the last King of Italy, Umberto II, offers a unique setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions, combining stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean with excellent service.

A dream setting for the wedding ceremony and reception

The Grande Real Villa Itália Hotel & Spa stands out as one of the most prestigious wedding venues in Cascais. With a privileged location by the sea, it offers a romantic and sophisticated atmosphere for the wedding day.

  • Versatile spaces: Banquet halls, terraces, and garden areas are adaptable to different styles of ceremony
  • Panoramic views: Sea-view settings, ideal for civil ceremonies and receptions
  • Personalised services: Decoration, catering, and event organisation tailored to the couple’s preferences
  • Luxury accommodation: 124 rooms, including suites and penthouses, to host the bride, groom, and wedding guests in comfort

The ceremony of Margarida and Diogo took place on one of the terraces overlooking the sea, creating an intimate and memorable atmosphere. The party continued in the hotel’s elegant halls, where guests enjoyed an exceptional gastronomic experience and unforgettable moments of celebration.

The importance of a wedding photographer attentive to detail

Being chosen as a wedding photographer by someone passionate about the art of photography, such as the bride’s father, Mr. Mário, is both an honour and a heightened responsibility. Every gesture, every frame, and every click is closely observed, requiring a high level of professionalism and sensitivity.

  • Capturing genuine emotions: Recording spontaneous moments between the bride, groom, and wedding guests
  • Adapting to the environment: Making use of natural light and the hotel’s settings for unique compositions
  • Discreet presence: Being there without interfering, allowing moments to unfold naturally
  • Delivering quality: Providing wedding photos that reflect the day’s beauty and emotion

In the end, Mr. Mário’s approval was proof of success: trust earned and memories eternalised with quality.
