Bride in Her Transformation, by the Wedding Photographer

I’ve already written about the mad rush of wedding photographers between the different locations of the day’s events. But with Vanessa in Abóboda, on a rainy day, and Ricardo in Atouguia, near Fátima, the whole thing felt like something out of an old Speedy Gonzalez cartoon.
Starting the day early in the morning, and despite a sprint worthy of an Olympic candidate, being caught halfway by torrential rain between the car and the location where the bride was in her first phase of transformation was not exactly what this humble wedding photographer expected. But… it comes with the job.
Party, joy, and all the good things in the wedding photographs

I must say, the bride and makeup team were spot on with the timing, giving me enough margin to get to the groom in time. Once the bride was ready, like a butterfly post-metamorphosis, the journey to Atouguia still felt like it was centuries away, but, in the end, it took just the right amount of time to get to the groom and make it to the ceremony at the Church of Atouguia on time.
I forgot to mention that the rain stopped—it only caused a scare on the way to the bride’s preparations. The rest of the day was just right, and once we arrived at the celebration venue, Quinta da Ramila in Ortiga, everything that should happen on a wedding day after the “yes” unfolded: celebration, joy, and wishes for the couple to enjoy all the good things life has to offer.
With the duty fulfilled, the return was peaceful, in the early hours, back to headquarters.

In the world of wedding photography, each event is unique, filled with emotions, challenges, and unforgettable moments. Vanessa and Ricardo’s wedding was one of those memorable days, marked by demanding logistics, adverse weather conditions, and above all, the beauty of the chosen venues: the Igreja Paroquial de Atouguia for the religious ceremony, and Quinta da Ramila in Ortiga for the celebration.
Preparations and Ceremony at the Igreja Paroquial de Atouguia

The day began with Vanessa’s preparation in Abóboda. Despite the heavy rain, the makeup team strictly followed the schedule, allowing the wedding photographer to arrive in time to capture the initial moments. After Vanessa’s transformation, the journey to Atouguia followed, where Ricardo, the groom, was waiting.
The ceremony took place at the Igreja Paroquial de Atouguia, located in the parish of Atouguia, municipality of Ourém. This Catholic temple, with its rich history and imposing architecture, provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s union. The church is known for its importance to the local community and the beauty of its interior, which contributed to the solemn and emotional atmosphere of the ceremony.

An experienced wedding photographer knows how to anticipate key moments, deal with the unexpected, and capture the essence of the day in a discreet and artistic way.
