Wandering Couple and Walking Wedding Photographer

Wandering around. “Around” means the beautiful and photographable downtown Lisbon. It works just as well in pre-planned photos, like in fashion editorials, as it does for those who roam there with a keen eye and the patience of a photographer, waiting for the space to fill exactly as they wish, with people who, unknowingly, place themselves as if part of a perfectly choreographed scene.
As I’ve written before, as a wedding photographer, I don’t have the kind of patience needed for those who wait… and wait… and wait… now. But since the joy is the same, I had no choice but to develop a sharp eye and quick feet, and off I go, as they say in Alentejo, to see what comes of it. Not quite random, but it’s good that it looks like it. The wandering couple and the walking photographer. The only thing left is a fitting backdrop.
A Wedding Photographer Feeling Like Water

It’s not the first time I’ve wandered around here with couples who chose me. I always know they won’t regret it, and Lisbon has never let me down. From its textures to the light, from its hurried passersby that I use as background to the late afternoons I love so much, they make me feel like water after rain—effortlessly flowing down those streets toward the Tagus River.
Being a wedding photographer allows me to do just that. To even feel like water.

Point by point:
- Downtown Lisbon is an incredible backdrop for photographs. For those wanting post-wedding photos, there’s nothing more beautiful than those streets.
- I’m not a still photographer. I love movement and everything that happens around it.
- To do this, I’ve trained myself in quick observation and instant reaction.
- So, having a couple dressed up as on their wedding day, strolling through Lisbon while I photograph them, is my favorite method.
- From the texture of the streets, the diffused light filtering between them, to the people filling them and serving as background—everything contributes to the post-wedding photographs in Lisbon.
- Being a wedding photographer gives me this opportunity, which I take every time I can.
You need to know:
- Photography is an act of capturing space and time. It’s the only thing that can stop it—and let it go on. I like the idea of being able to do that. It’s like freezing pieces of time and looking at them with a smile, saying: see this? Right here in this photograph, you don’t get to move on.
- I know that with the photos I take at weddings, I give couples the chance to return to the day they were so happy. That makes me… very happy.
Let me do that for you. It gives you the ability to fool time and rewind it whenever you want. Come talk to me, so you can see how I do it—and how I show it in the photographs I want to share with you.
