September was already heading toward the end of summer, and up north, in the Serra da Estrela region, the bustle was starting. In Menoita, Hélia and Ricardo began their preparations. There’s no need to describe it in detail because my role isn’t that of a writer-journalist but of a photojournalist capturing images through cameras and lenses, quietly showing what happened at lightning speed (no exaggeration here) during the nervous passing of hours until the central moment of the day — the “I do” during the ceremony at the Capela da Menoita.

A wedding day is known to be a day of celebration, and the party happens where it belongs. In this case, the Quinta da Cheinha in Pinhel was the couple’s chosen venue. Once again, it’s far better to view the photographs than to have the writer of this article go on with words that could never replace them — the photos.
It was a good time, people sang, people danced, and the photographer at the wedding fulfilled his duty… at least, I think so.

In an idyllic setting between Serra da Estrela and the landscapes of Beira Interior, the wedding of Hélia and Ricardo was a true fairy tale. The ceremony took place at the picturesque Capela da Menoita, in Guarda, and the celebration continued at the charming Quinta da Cheinha in Pinhel. As a wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing every moment of this unforgettable day, full of emotion and natural beauty.

The morning began with the couple’s preparations, surrounded by the tranquility of the village of Menoita, in the parish of Pêra do Moço, municipality of Guarda. The bride, surrounded by her family and friends, got ready with excitement, while the groom, accompanied by his loved ones, made the final adjustments to his outfit. Every gesture, every glance, was a preview of the moment that was about to arrive.

The Capela da Menoita, with its traditional architecture and welcoming atmosphere, was the perfect setting for the ceremony. The guests, visibly moved, witnessed the exchange of vows and rings between Hélia and Ricardo. The soft light entering through the chapel windows enhanced the beauty of the moment, creating a magical atmosphere.

After the ceremony, the couple and guests headed to Quinta da Cheinha, located in Pinhel. This sophisticated and welcoming venue, surrounded by stunning rural landscapes, offered the ideal environment for the celebration. With capacity for up to 450 guests, the quinta features two distinct halls and a large garden with a waterfall and a lake, perfect for leisure moments and photo sessions.
